I like to plan for small groups using the University of Florida Literacy Initiative planning template. Their site has some great information, but I discovered it through Meredith N. (Creativity to the Core). She has some videos explaining how she uses their template. I attended a small group training with her a few months ago and have since adapted UFLI’s template to what works for me.

Click here to make a copy of my template. My template includes a blank format and then one where you can just check the box of the activity you are doing for each component. Both are editable once you make a copy. I also include a brief description of what I do for each component.
